In a crowded café, a man and a woman place bets to secure the last empty seat during a rainy afternoon.
Where do the funds go?
Better Bet Her is a CNY based project.
Our budget is ¥20,000.
We are very honored that we will be granted ¥5,000 from our university to be able to make a short film in China.
The café location is locked and the audiovisual equipment are rented. Meanwhile, the money we are trying to gather would be used to cover the rest of these expenses. Of course, we hope to limit our expenses there - you can help us do that!
If the funds raised exceed the target, we pledge to transfer the excess to organizations that are fighting for gender equality.
What is a pledge in crowdfund?
A pledge is a promise that you'll pay the declared amount in the pledge when the period of the campaign ends successfully.

It is important to understand that backing a campaign and claiming a reward are not the same as buying an item online. Instead, supporting our campaign means you are helping a work-in-progress project for a good cause.
When does the crowdfund end?
The crowdfunding period spans for four weeks from March to April 2023.
The results of the total number of funds will be announced on April.
How to participate in crowdfund?
The WE BETTER principle is to receive a reward in exchange of your support. You need to select the reward you would like to get based on the amount you wish to contribute. Click on the Rewards tab to see the list of available rewards and select the one you are interested in. Please read the rate sheet. You will be asked to fill up a form for making a pledge.
Keep also in mind the social aspect of the project: by sharing it to your network, it helps the project getting known and increasing its chances of success!
What if the target is not reached?
WE BETTER is all or nothing. Raising ¥20,000 is an objective that we want to surpass of course! Our team only receives the funds if our campaign reach or exceeds 100% of the target amount. Our progress regarding the funds are seen at the top of the site and in the progress sheet from our Updates tab.
If this crowdfunding campaign ends below the target amount, then all of the money that you pledged will be cancelled.
However, it is possible to make a contribution and still gain screen credit and other rewards attached to your pledge.
Plans for Marketing & Distribution?
The film will be showcased in the 3rd annual MEGA International Creative Media Festival held in Suzhou, China and virtually on May 12, 2023. Save the date!
